Hey friends, the Louis Prima Jr. record was just released this week and I was lucky enough to get to work on it a bit during my time at The Tone Factory last year. It was Produced/Engineered/Mixed by the man himself, Vinny Castaldo, with me handling some additional engineering and tape-op duties. I have some all-around good memories of hanging around this group last year so definitely check out the iTunes page when you get a chance. Some of these songs WILL sound familiar, no matter what age!

Spent the weekend recording vocals with Lisa at the classic Westlake Recording Studios. Got stuck in Hollywood Bowl Coldplay concert traffic on the way but made up for lost time. Among the songs recorded was a new one I produced and we co-wrote. Maybe it’ll see the light of day if we get lucky!

“Devices”, Lenny Lujan’s debut release that I produced/engineered/mixed in 2011, just came out on iTunes and other online outlets this past month. If you don’t already know him, Lenny is a New Mexico native who has lived in Las Vegas the past few years writing and performing within multiple music circles. His inspiration on this solo effort draws heavily from both USA and UK-style classic pop, while hints of his Latin, classic rock, and punk influences are laced throughout. Go listen!

In the summer of ‘09 to the early spring of 2010 I lived out a lifelong dream of recording my very own solo record. Growing up, I was never formally taught how to play an instrument. I was HARDLY a singer (wait, I’m still hardly a singer haha). Like many musicians, though, I wanted to play my songs. Luckily I had some amazing friends who believed in me enough to become executive producers of my first full length record and help me to quit my bar job at the time. Also like many musicians, I feel as I look back on the project that I would have changed so many things or done so many things different. But I guess if we knew all the answers from the start none of this would be any fun, would it? This a B-side version of what was my favorite song on the record..
